Project Management

Successful projects are team efforts, involving all parties in project definition, agreeing project scope, idealizing and conceptualizing a design, converting product requirements to engineering specifications, project integration, project communications management, and conducting design reviews. We are often asked to take on the project management tasks from design through to installation.
We manage our projects by employing good engineering practices developed through long experience in the food, medical, print and aerospace industries in design and development of special purpose machinery, process plant, warehouse layouts and systems.
Principles
Straightforward communication and clear goals have proved to be the keywords. The bigger a project is and the more resources and stakeholders are involved, the more important it is that communication works. In order to be effective in project management, Design Creations follow the following guidelines:
- Communicate. Ensure the different information needs. Through targeted communication the recipients understand the message easier. Neglecting communication can lead to an inaccurate picture of the project.
- Focus on the right objectives. Without clear agreed objectives there is a real risk that more work than necessary may be carried out. You need to be focused on, and prioritize what is important.
- Don’t do everything yourself. Empowerment motivates. To take responsibility encourages people to perform better and the team will provide a better service. If the team performance is increased the project management will improve.
- Checkpoints and follow-ups. To follow up and to ensure that the project is on track, is essential in project management. A good tip for the project manager is to encourage the project members by following up their work.
- Be prepared for changes. Projects do not always progress according to the project plan. Project work can be influenced by external forces. An issue management tool helps the project manager to get an overview of actions that need to be made. It also provides transparency and openness for other stakeholders as the project progresses.
Use of project tools. A project does not need to be large to benefit from a project tool. Project tools provide opportunities to communicate and collaborate in projects. With the right tools, you save both time and money
